MoneySmart provides a range of services to enable people to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to make the most of their money.
We offer practical support through group workshops, one to one mentoring and IT drop in sessions to help people:
• Take control of spending
• Cut costs through Smart Shopping
• Understand credit, banking and borrowing options
• Stay on top of bills
• Identify possible grants
• Find and switch to the best energy deals
• Set up online banking, direct debits and more
• Maximise their income
We provide interactive workshops to help people to improve their financial skills and confidence. Working with local organisations in the community, we can tailor our sessions to meet the specific needs of each client group. Workshops can be delivered as a one-off session addressing a key topic, or cover a range of money management issues over a number of weeks. Our workshops are engaging, informal and provide people with real-life examples, practical tools and resources to take away.
We work one-to-one with people with mental or physical health problems to help them take practical steps to cut costs, access the best financial deals and services and take control of their money. Our Money Mentors will work with the client to set realistic goals focusing on areas such as money planning (budgets), best payment options, reducing household costs, sorting out banking issues, different ways to save, as well as information on when and how to seek financial advice. We run a weekly drop in session to help people to get online and access products and resources that can save them money. Our friendly IT Volunteers are on hand to help with everything from the basics --such as using a PC or setting up an email address-- to using cost comparison websites, online banking or filling in online forms. Clients can bring their own laptop, phone or tablet, or use one of our PCs. No appointment is needed.

A new service working with people one-to-one to help them use their tablets and smartphones to make energy savings. We can help you:
• Find out how to use your tablet or smartphone to save you money on your energy bill
• Identify apps and comparison websites to help reduce energy costs
Drop-in for support at our weekly MoneySmart Online sessions based in Lockleaze (Tuesday 10.30am-12.30noon). The MoneySmart Energy team will also be out and about in North Bristol at community events every month.
